Joy

Joy is an adorable 8-week old female Great Dane mix pup from Tehama we rescued along with her sisters Cookie and Holly. She also looks to have Catahoula in her as well. Joy was the “runt” of the litter, but she doesn’t care about that label and neither do we!

She’s a cuddly, playful, happy girl. She did well for her first post-rescue bath as soon as she felt that wonderful warm water wash over her. She liked getting dried up in a towel even better, then curling up in our arms for a little nap.

She was respectful of the cat in her temp. foster home and wanted to play with the big adult dog.

She loves a little rope toy that when thrown, she pauses, then pounces after like a jungle cat. It’s pretty cute.

She’s been dazzled by the lights on the Christmas tree, and curious about those people talking on the big screen TV. It’s a big wide world and Joy is ready to explore!

More to come!

Ralphie

Picture

Ralphie is a 1-2 year old Chi mix. He was adopted out from a shelter as a pup, but was later returned because he became “too tall.” He’s not nippy, and would enjoy and active home to run and play with. He can be a little shy at first, but that cute face is worth a little patience.

Adoption fee: $250, includes neuter and current vaccinations.

FOSTER NEEDED

Pluto

Better photos coming!

Pluto is a 4-5 year old Shi Tzu mix. He gets along with other dogs, but not when he’s living with them (more of fly-solo kind of guy and promises to give the loyalty and love equal to five dogs!).

He was found by a couple, then sadly the husband died of cancer and the wife couldn’t handle Pluto not getting along with their dogs. He could stand to use a little weight, but still has pep in his step.

He’d do best in a quieter home with no kids and no other dogs.

Adoption fee: $250, includes neuter and current vaccinations.

FOSTER NEEDED

  • Will need an assertive yet gentle and calm owner able to guide him in the right direction and enforce rules
  • Getting along with the other dog in his foster home
  • Has lots of playful puppy energy
  • Sleeps well in his crate
  • Learning to walk well on leash; getting better everyday
  • Super sweet boy once he warms up to you
  • Will alert bark when scared or in uncomfortable situations; so someone able to read body language a must

Ariel

Picture

Ariel is a 10-month old mix puppy we rescued from Glenn County along with her siblings Arnold and Autumn. This girl has super model good looks — she’s lean and lanky, and has an exotic thing going for her…we can’t quite figure out what breeds she is, she’s so unique!

By default she was labeled a pit mix at the shelter, but we think she’s part Greyhound with a long narrow body and a head to match.

  • Sweet and lovable
  • House trained
  • Loves to play in the yard with the other dog in the home
  • Would make a great running or hiking partner.
  • Loves to snuggle
  • Very gentle in her play so we think she could be good with kids
  • Responds to her name, sits, and will wait until you tell her it’s ok to start eating (as long as you don’t wait too long). Still pulls a bit on the leash, but not that bad.
  • Her foster calls her a “really easy dog” (her last thing to learn is counter surfing!)
  • Sleeps in her crate at night and sometimes in the afternoon for her nap
  • Food motivated
