July 2, 2015… Our field trip with Milton
Milton may be a little nervous in new settings but he’s not timid. He is gentle and mild mannered but loves to play and run too. He loves attention, especially massages. This helps him to trust and bond quickly. He even seemed to enjoy his leg and toes massaged. He is gentle taking treats from your fingers and was not food reactive. He tends to freeze up once in awhile during his walk but by lifting his body to stand up; a taunt directional pull of the lease with one hand, and with the other hand lift his tail in the up position while leading him forward gets him going. Milton will do best with a person or family who is home enough to introduce new things to him and and build one on one bonding. He needs proper exercise for the working breed that he is. Milton has had obedience training at the shelter. He would also do well with another dog that is balanced/secure to help build his confidence but not a must. He is a young active boy and would make a wonderful companion for an active but calm person or family who can fulfill his needs… he just needs a little boost and given a chance.
